Shopify AccessGuard ("we", "us", or "our") is a Chrome browser extension developed to help Shopify merchants quickly scan their store pages and admin theme editor for accessibility issues based on WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines, with Shopify-specific considerations.We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (if any), how we use it, and your rights. It applies only to the Shopify AccessGuard Chrome extension.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect.

Shopify AccessGuard is designed to perform all accessibility checks locally in your browser using only the content of the currently active tab when you explicitly click the extension icon.

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

• Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Financial information
• Authentication credentials or passwords
• Location data (IP address, GPS, etc.)
• Web browsing history beyond the single active tab during use
• User activity logs (clicks, keystrokes, mouse movements, etc.)
• Website content (page text, images, or other data) beyond temporary DOM analysis for accessibility audits
• Any data from Shopify admin or storefront pages after the scan completes

No data is sent to our servers or any third parties. All processing (e.g., contrast checks, alt text detection, ARIA label verification) happens client-side.

2. Limited Transient Data AccessTo function, the extension temporarily accesses:

• The URL of the active browser tab (via Chrome's activeTab permission) only when you click the extension icon to initiate a scan.
• Basic DOM structure and computed styles of the page (via content script injection on Shopify domains) to perform accessibility calculations.

This access is:

• Ephemeral (ends when the popup closes or scan finishes)
